Spanish Club
What's the purpose of the club? For members to practice their Spanish , have fun and learn culture from other Latinoamerica countries.
What goes on in the club? We prepare any food that is easy to make in my classroom, watch movies in Spanish, prepare arts and crafts.
Spanish Honor Society
If you want to improve your Spanish language skills and participate in service projects, which will benefit your college application.
What is the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica?
The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
The purpose of the society is to recognize high achievement of high school students in the Spanish and Portuguese languages and to promote a continuing interest in Hispanic and Portuguese studies.
Any secondary school student who has maintained an honor average in the study of Spanish for a minimum of three semesters and is in the 10th grade or higher is eligible.
Cabritas de Asheville Chapter
Members will be chosen in September of each school year.
Qualifications for Membership
Section 1. To be eligible for the Society, students must meet all the following criteria.
Student must be actively enrolled in a Spanish class.
Student must be enrolled in the 3rd year of Spanish or higher.
Transfer students must have spent one full semester in the program before eligibility.
Student must have an A-average in all Spanish classes.
Student must have a B – average overall.
Student must never have failed a class due to attendance.
Consideration must be given to integrity, honor, responsibility, interest, character, leadership, seriousness of purpose and commitment to others.
Student must have participated in the National Spanish Exam at least one time if opportunity was given at school.
Section 2. A Spanish teacher will nominate eligible students.
