The young students in the T.C. Roberson Learning Lab got an important reminder about taking care of teeth, whether you’re a ram or a reptile.
Dental hygienist Miranda Owens of Asheville Dental Associates visited to celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month. She shared healthy habits that help keep teeth clean and strong, and had them practice brushing a crocodile’s teeth. Mrs. Owens talked about healthy snacks and had students identify which foods are good for you, those okay occasionally, and which snacks are not-so-good for teeth. The young learners received pretend patient files, so they can continue to play as dentists and hygienists.
Mrs. Owens also visited the learning labs at Erwin and North Buncombe high schools this month. Thanks for visiting and teaching our students about healthy smiles!
