Class Rules and Procedures

Mrs. Wood’s Math III Rules and Procedures:

(Book approx $75)

 

All Math III student’s should:

1.     Follow all school rules and regulations.

2.     Be in your seat with required materials when the tardy bell rings, or you WILL be counted tardy.

3.     Have a positive attitude and come to class every day ready to work hard.

 

Required Daily Materials:

A.   Your text book

B.    Large loose leaf notebook for Math III only (3 ring binder)

C.   Sharpened pencils (NO PENS)

D.   Graphing Calculator

 

4.     Be attentive and active to class lectures, discussions, and group work.

5.     Take notes during group work and class lectures and retain in your notebook. (This is mandatory! Failure to cooperate will result in a warning, then detention, etc).

6.     Use good manners and be respectful to others at ALL times.

7.     Each student will be allowed 3 hall passes each 9 weeks. (save them)

(each additional hall pass you use will result in a 10 min detention).

8.     CELL PHONES, MUSIC DEVICES, ETC ARE NOT ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE CLASS ROOM!!!!

*As long as it does not become a problem in class, water bottles and small snacks are okay to have in class.

 

Grade Information:

1.     Each Test will count 100 points (approximately every 1 ½ weeks).

2.     Pop Quizzes and homework (including journals) grades will count 10-40 points. EXPECT DAILY Homework! DO NOT COMPLAIN! JUST DO IT!

3.     Projects & Labs will count 20-100 points…..you will know how many points the day you receive your project assignment.

4.     The final exam will count as 25% of your final grade.

5.     All 9 week averages, exam, and final grade are based on a numerical average and a 10 point scale is used.

6.      Make-Up work:

A.   You have 2 days for every one day you are absent to make up tests, quizzes, homework, etc (include the weekends for homework)

B.    Tests and quizzes will be made up by appointment ONLY!!!

(some tests and quizzes you may be asked to make up in class while we move on).

C.   Make-Up work is the responsibility of the student. Failure to make up work will result in a grade of a 0!

D.   If you are absent for a school function or time out, you are required to get your assignments in advanced and are expected to be “up to date” upon your return.

 

Advice:

1.     DO NOT BE ABSENT!!!!!

2.     Do what it takes to master the material (work hard in and out of class).

3.     Be organized and keep up with all your assignments! ALWAYS try every homework problem!

4.     STUDY for Tests!!!

5.     Do not expect to understand every topic fully the first day it is presented.

6.     Follow all requirements to avoid punishment.

7.     DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT HOMEWORK! YOU WILL HAVE IT EVERY NIGHT!
