National Art Honor Society

ational Art Honor Society

The National Art Honor Society is specifically for high school students, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art to the attention of the school and community.
Participation in the NAHS is a mark of accomplishment in the school and community and well recognized by the institutions when students apply for entry into a college or university.
Membership in this chapter is based on art ability, service, and character. Art Teachers will nominate students and notify them with an invitation/letter. To be eligible for membership selection, the candidate must:
1) Have taken Art 1 and maintained a “B” average in Art. You do not need to
be currently enrolled in art.
2) Maintain at least a B average overall academically.
3) Volunteer for various activities as decided by Ms. Patane on a yearly basis.
5) 10th and 11th grade students- Pay $5 dues which is mandated by the National Art Education Association. 12th grade students will need to pay $15 to cover the cost of their honor cord.
