You will be asked for basic information about you and the need you are trying to fill.  A community navigator will contact you to help link you to the resources you need.

Other Health:

If you do not already have a primary care provider for your child, there are a few Community Health Centers in the area.  These providers accept Medicaid and provide services on a sliding fee scale to people without insurance:

Appalachian Mountain Health Centers: (828)202-5200 (serves Asheville, but not Arden)

Western North Carolina Community Health Center: (828)285-0622

Blue Ridge Community Health Center, Arden: (828)692-4289

You must be an established patient with each of these centers in order to use their services.  For emergencies, go to your local urgent care facility or to Mission Hospital Emergency Room.

There are multiple sites across Buncombe County where students can receive meals while the schools are closed.  The distribution center for the TC Roberson district is at Estes Elementary School. You can find a full listing of meal and emergency food distribution stations here: Yellow Buses are also coming to Wellington Estates, Rock Hill, Whispering Pines and Pine Valley to distribute meals. White Duck Taco Shop is offering one free regular priced taco for school-age children per day. This offer will be available Monday thru Friday for lunch or dinner starting March 16th.

Baked Pie Company will offer every child a FREE bagged lunch Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m..  Bown bags will include a PB&J sandwich on wheat bread, an apple, white milk, and a Baked cookie. Jelly only sandwiches can be requested for students with peanut allergies.  Parents can come in and request as many bags as they need.

Charter/Spectrum will make its services available for free for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who don’t already have internet through the company.  Installation fees will be waived for new student households.
