English I/II

In English I and II, we will work to improve students' reading, writing, thinking, speaking, and listening skills through a unit focusing on Human Rights.  We will read a variety of texts revolving around this theme, including the novel Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan and the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We will also utilize other resources to improve grammar, vocabulary, and decoding/encoding skills.

At the end of the semester, students will take the NC Final Exam for English I or the NC End of Course Test for English II.  This will count as their final exam.
